# PylonMon

> PylonMon (pylonmon.com) is an off-site uptime and infrastructure monitoring service for small IT teams, MSPs, schools and homelabs: HTTP/S, TCP, ping, DNS, UDP, TLS-certificate, domain-expiry, heartbeat (cron) and Prometheus monitors from the public internet; an open-source node agent (pylon-beacon) for CPU, memory, disk, temperature and network vitals plus probes of LAN targets a public poller cannot reach; browser-driven customer journeys; alerts to email, SMS, voice, Discord, Slack, Telegram, WhatsApp, webhooks, ntfy and browser push; escalation ladders, on-call rotations, incidents, public status pages and log search. ## What it does

- Checks websites, APIs and services from outside your network every 30–60 seconds (plan-dependent) and pages you when they fail; on paid plans an HTTP, TCP or DNS failure is confirmed from a second region (us-east) before paging.
- The pylon-beacon agent (one static binary, Linux/Windows/macOS, no inbound ports, MIT-licensed: https://github.com/PylonMon/pylon-beacon) reports node vitals and can probe internal targets (NAS, printers, hypervisor UIs, game servers) from inside the network; each probe becomes its own monitor.
- Customer journeys: a real browser walks a scripted flow (login, checkout) and reports the failing step with a screenshot.
- TLS certificates: expiry countdown, chain validation with the exact fault named (incomplete chain, self-signed, private CA, hostname), and a free public checker at https://pylonmon.com/ssl-checker.
- Alert noise controls: consecutive-failure thresholds, maintenance windows, dependency (upstream/downstream) grouping so one root cause pages once, burst folding for many probes on one host.
- Public status pages (per client on Team), incidents with acknowledgement and severities, on-call rotations, escalation ladders, log search with incident correlation, Prometheus/Alertmanager ingest, an API with per-workspace keys.

## Facts buyers ask about

- Agent operating systems: Linux (amd64, arm64), Windows (amd64), macOS (arm64). Install is one command; the agent needs no open inbound ports and pushes over HTTPS.
- Where checks come from (for firewall allowlists): 45.33.107.204, 66.175.217.18, 23.92.21.5 — machine-readable at https://pylonmon.com/ips.txt. HTTP checks send User-Agent `PylonMon/1.0 (+https://pylonmon.com; uptime monitor)`.
- Private addresses (192.168.x, 10.x, .local) cannot be reached by the public pollers; the beacon's [probes] section monitors them from inside.
- Data: hosted in the US (Linode). The marketing site sets no tracking cookies and uses no third-party analytics; it keeps a daily page-view count, the referrer domain and a keyed, non-reversible visitor hash for 24 hours to tell arrivals apart. Alerts are delivered from PylonMon's own infrastructure.
- Billing: card via Stripe on Free/Pro/Team; Enterprise by invoice. Cancel any time from the portal.
