Add-ons are bought from the Status Pages screen in the portal and billed monthly by Stripe; remove one and it stays until the end of the month you paid for, then stops renewing. No refunds, no surprise charges. Full plan list on the pricing section.
Create a page, tick the monitors it should show and give them public names — “Student portal” instead of “dc1-iis-02 https”. Group them under headings like Websites, Email and Network.
Add one DNS record: status.yourcompany.com CNAME pages.pylonmon.com. We see it, issue the
certificate and renew it. The pylonmon.com link keeps working alongside.
When a monitor goes down and the re-check confirms it (from a second region on paid plans), the page shows it. Declared incidents and scheduled maintenance appear too, so the people who depend on you can check before they call.
A status page that someone has to remember to update is usually green during the outage and red an hour after it ended. Because the page reads the same checks that alert you — uptime checks, server vitals from the beacon agent, cron heartbeats and checkout journeys — it changes when reality does. An incident you declare adds the words; the colour is already right.
Do I need a paid plan? No. The Free plan includes one page with every feature except a custom domain; the $10 pack adds two more pages and custom domains on any plan.
Can every client get their own page? Yes — each page has its own link, branding, monitors and maintenance notices, so one client never sees another’s services.
What does the footer look like? One line at the bottom: “Powered by PylonMon”. It is how other people find us, which is why it is on by default; it is $5/mo to remove and included on Team and Enterprise.
What happens if I stop paying for a pack? Nothing is deleted. Pages beyond your allowance stop being public until you remove some or add the pack back, and a custom domain falls back to the pylonmon.com link.
