PYLONMON

Terms & Policies

The plain-language version of how PylonMon works, what you can expect from us, and what we expect from you. Last updated 2026-07-16.

Terms of service

By creating an account you agree to these terms. PylonMon is a monitoring service operated by Pylon. We provide the service "as available" and do our honest best to keep it running, but it is a tool to help you notice problems — it is not a guarantee that you will be notified of every event, and it is not a substitute for your own backups, redundancy, and on-call practices.

You're responsible for the account credentials you hold and for anything done under your account. Don't use PylonMon to break the law, to monitor systems you don't own or have permission to monitor, or to attack, overload, or probe third parties. We can suspend or close accounts that do.

Fair use & promotions

Billing

Paid plans are billed monthly in advance through Stripe, our payment processor. Pylon never sees or stores your full card details — Stripe holds them. Your subscription renews automatically each month until you cancel. Prices are shown before you check out; if we change a plan's price we'll tell you before it applies to your next renewal.

Message credits (email, SMS, and voice packs) are a one-time charge to the card on file. We charge first and only add the credits to your account once the payment succeeds — nothing is granted on a failed charge. Purchased credits don't expire, and if you turn on auto top-up you set your own monthly spending cap.

If a payment fails, or a charge is later reversed or disputed and leaves a balance owing, we pause your monitoring and alerting until the account is brought current. A failed subscription payment gives you a short grace period first (we'll show a banner and email you); a disputed/charged-back balance pauses right away. You can clear the balance any time from the past-due banner in the console — once you're paid up and positive, monitoring resumes automatically.

Refunds & disputes

Because plans are inexpensive and billed one month at a time, we generally do not offer refunds. If something genuinely went wrong on our end, or you have a special circumstance, email support@pylonmon.com and we'll look at it in good faith — refunds in those cases are granted at our discretion.

If you see a charge you don't recognize, please contact us first at support@pylonmon.com before opening a bank dispute or chargeback — it's almost always something we can sort out quickly and directly.

Cancellation

You can cancel anytime, yourself, from Settings in the console or through the Stripe billing portal — no email required, no retention maze. When you cancel, your plan stays active through the end of the period you've already paid for, then drops to the Free tier. We don't prorate or refund partial months. If your account then exceeds the Free limits, the newest monitors and alert channels are paused/disabled (never deleted) until you're back within the free caps or upgrade again.

Service & liability

We work hard to keep PylonMon accurate and available, but no monitoring service is perfect. We are not liable for any loss, downtime, missed alert, delayed notification, or degraded performance — whether it originates with us, your network, a notification provider (Discord, Slack, email, SMS, etc.), or anything else outside our reasonable control. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the previous month.

By paying for (or using) the service, you acknowledge and agree that Pylon is not responsible for your infrastructure, your services, your products, or your business outcomes — PylonMon tells you about problems; it does not prevent, own, or remedy them.

PylonMon is a tool you use to watch your systems. We are not responsible for your company, your products, your customers, or your infrastructure, and we make no warranties beyond what's written here. You are responsible for complying with the laws and export rules that apply to you and to the systems you choose to monitor.

Privacy & data

We collect the minimum needed to run the service: your account email, the monitors you create, and their recent results. We never sell your data. See our full Privacy Policy for how we handle your information. If you close your account, we disable it and purge its data after a retention period.

SMS / text & voice alerts

PylonMon sends transactional monitoring alerts only — when a system you monitor goes down or recovers, and on-call/incident pages for your team. We never send marketing or promotional texts.

How you opt in

SMS is entirely opt-in and self-service. After you create an account and sign in, you open the Alerts tab, add an SMS (or Voice) alert channel, and enter your own mobile number. Before the channel can be saved you must tick a consent checkbox that reads:

"I agree to receive automated alert text messages from PylonMon at the number above. Message frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel, HELP for help. See our Terms & Privacy Policy."

Checking that box is your express consent to receive text alerts at that number for the monitors and incidents you configure. The channel cannot be created until it is checked. No one else can add your number, and consent to receive texts is not a condition of purchase. See the opt-in step in full on our SMS & voice opt-in page.
