PylonMon vs UptimeRobot

Short answer: for “is my website up?”, both work and UptimeRobot’s free tier is larger (50 monitors at 5-minute checks, for hobby and non-profit use). For a business, the comparison is Pro vs Solo: PylonMon Pro at $9 gives 75 monitors at 30-second checks; UptimeRobot Solo at $13 gives 10 monitors at 60-second checks, 3 status pages and 3 login seats. The real difference is what happens beyond the website: PylonMon has an agent for servers and everything behind your firewall, browser journeys and log search. UptimeRobot answers with more status pages and more check locations. If you only need pings on public URLs, either is fine. If you also run machines, PylonMon covers them.

Which one, honestly

PICK UPTIMEROBOT WHEN
  • You want the largest free tier for a personal project and 5-minute checks are fine.
  • You need many public status pages (their Team plan allows 100).
  • You want check locations outside the US.
PICK PYLONMON WHEN
  • You run servers, a NAS, a hypervisor or a school network and want them watched too — from inside and outside.
  • You want SMS or a phone call included, and 30-second checks at the $9 level.
  • You want to know a checkout or login still works, not just that the homepage returns 200.

Moving over
